Discover Exciting Southeast Asian Designs at EMERGE @ FIND

Presenting works from over 50 designers surrounding this year’s theme of “Craft + Industry: Man + Machine”.

Buoyed by its successful debut last year, Southeast Asian design showcase EMERGE @ FIND returns as a Singapore Design Week highlight from 21 to 23 September. The exhibition is presented by DesignSingapore Council and supported by FIND — Design Fair Asia, and will gather over 50 of the region’s most exciting talents and their specially created pieces to explore this year’s theme of “Craft + Industry: Man + Machine”.

Visitors will be introduced to new and returning designers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines, and get to discover a diverse array of materials and interdisciplinary crafts.

Fresh faces include our very own Tan Wei Xiang, a design modeller at Dyson; siblings Khoo V-Ho and Giselle Khoo of Malaysian bespoke hardwood furniture brand Dad’s Wood; Hana Surya of Indonesian artisanal textile studio Threadapeutic; Thai woodworker Charnon Nakornsang; Filipino lighting designer Chini Lichangco; and Vietnam’s Thanh Tam Nguyen Tran, who designs and creates screens using a heat presser on nylon sheets.

Returning designers are also taking the opportunity to launch new products and present new ideas. Indonesian industrial designer Eva Natasa is putting a spin on her L02 stool with the use of natural indigo dye, while local textile designer Tiffany Loy is creating smaller pieces that push the technique and material further. Thai designer Teerapoj Teeropas is creating a special collection in collaboration with skilled artisans.

Admission to EMERGE @ FIND is free with registration by 20 September on FIND — Design Fair Asia’s website, so be sure to sign up now.
