K-pop Star IU to Perform in Singapore this April for Her 2024 World Tour ‘H.E.R.’
The ‘LILAC’ singer last came to Singapore in December 2019 for her Love Poem tour.
One of the most successful female soloists in the K-pop world, IU, will be coming to Singapore this April as part of her 2024 world tour titled H.E.R.. Uaenas (IU’s fans) will be able to catch the ‘Good Day’ singer in Singapore on April 20 and 21 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for the first time since 2019. Just yesterday, IU’s official social media channels uploaded the official list of cities and dates that she will be visiting on the H.E.R. tour.
Aside from Singapore, the singer-songwriter will be making stops in various major cities across Asia, the US and the UK. Beginning with Seoul, IU will then travel to Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Hong Kong and more. From the confirmed cities as of writing this article, Singapore is the fourth leg of her tour journey, though fans across the world are giddy with anticipation, in hopes that IU will release more tour dates progressively.
IU had come to Singapore in 2018 and 2019. In December 2019, the singer, once lovingly regarded as the Nation’s Little Sister in South Korea, performed a taxing four-hour-long concert at the Star Theatre, as part of her Love Poem tour. The 30-year-old singer had promised to come back to Singapore in 2020 but eventually could not fulfil her promise due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Debuting at the tender age of 15, IU’s 15-year career has been a hugely successful one. Her 2010 hit song ‘Good Day’ is still well-known in the K-pop industry as one of her most distinct tracks and is a notoriously challenging song to cover. Since the early 2010s, IU has consistently released hit tracks including ‘Strawberry Moon’, ‘BBIBBI’, ‘LILAC’, and ‘eight’ which features and is produced by BTS’ Suga. Suga, who also goes by his other stage name Agust D, featured on another of IU’s songs, ‘People Pt.2’, which was released in 2023.
Beloved for her crisp vocals, kind heart and gentle demeanour, IU is a talented multihyphenate who has branched out into songwriting, acting and composing. She has starred in K-dramas such as Dream High, Hotel Del Luna and the 2023 film Dream, along with actor Park Seo-joon. On the music front, IU is set to make a return with the track ‘Love Wins’ on January 24, with BTS’ V starring in the music video.
