Get Your Cold Brew Fix From These 12 Local Coffee Stores
With most bubble tea stores closed, and most restaurants and cafes offering takeaway menus, there has been a silent drink on the rise: meet the cold brew.
Even before the circuit breaker, cold brew coffee has been emerging as a popular beverage choice and an item included in menus of most specialty coffee shops here in Singapore. And with most available in glass or can, it is easily purchased and to be enjoyed from the comforts of your home.
But make no mistake about it: cold brew coffee isn’t simply just regular coffee kept cold. The difference between cold brew and a regular brewed iced coffee lies in its preparation. Ground beans are soaked in room temperature water for up to 24 hours, which produces a smoother, sweeter, and less acidic drink, as compared to regular coffee, as a result.
This makes it the preferred drink of choice as you’re stuck at home: Unlike regular hot coffee or iced lattes, a cold brew’s flavour profile will not change according to temperature, and keeps in the fridge for longer, making for a highly convenient option.
Ahead, we list all the roasteries, cafes, and companies offering this special bottled brew to keep you well caffeinated over the Circuit breaker period, and beyond.
