In a range of ultra-chic, minimalistic looks, the Duchess of Sussex has touched down in South America for her second public visit of the year.

After Prince Harry and <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/culture/kate-middleton-cancer-diagnoses-meghan-markle-prince-harry-respond-celebrity-royal-news" title="Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'Wish Health and Healing' to Kate Middleton" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Meghan Markle</a> set out on a public visit to&nbsp;Nigeria&nbsp;earlier this year, the couple announced that they would be resuming a fairly regular&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/culture/film-meghan-markle-hollywood-projects-returning-to-acting-prince-harry-royal-family" target="_blank" title="Meghan Markle Hints at Upcoming Hollywood Projects" rel="noopener">travel schedule</a>&nbsp;throughout the rest of 2024. Their latest trip found the pair in Colombia, where they have kept busy with philanthropic engagements, visits to local schools, and meetings with state officials.&nbsp;
The couple were invited by Colombia's vice president,&nbsp;Francia M&aacute;rquez, who explained in a press conference that she felt a connection to <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/culture/meghan-markle-opens-up-about-social-media-harassment-celebrity-news-mental-health" title="Meghan Markle Opens Up About Social Media Harassment at SXSW" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Markle </a>after hearing her story and her experience with the media following her marriage. &ldquo;I first encountered them through the media, and I particularly watched the Netflix series about their lives and their story, which deeply moved me. It motivated me to say, &lsquo;This is a woman who deserves to visit our country and share her story,&rsquo; and undoubtedly, her visit will strengthen so many women around the world.&rdquo;&nbsp;
While the trip is not an official royal tour, so to speak, it is a public visit made with a similar&nbsp;philanthropic&nbsp;and diplomatic intent. M&aacute;rquez explained this further in the same statement and said:&nbsp;&ldquo;This is their first visit to Latin America. The purpose of their visit is to build bridges and open doors that will allow us to join forces in raising awareness and addressing a global issue that concerns us all: cyber-bullying in digital environments and discrimination, which pose a risk to everyone&rsquo;s mental health worldwide."&nbsp;
On Thursday, August 15, the couple touched down in Bogota, where they subsequently met with the vice president and her husband. Later in the day, they visited a school and met with young students, before co-hosting a summit on behalf of the&nbsp;Archewell Foundation&nbsp;on the ever-changing digital landscape, where social media and its impacts on society were primary talking points. On August 16, they visited another school and attended an&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/meghan-markle-all-outfits-2023-invictus-games-fashion-prince-harry-royals" target="_blank" title="Meghan Markle Was a Fashion Darling at Prince Harry's 2023 Invictus Games" rel="noopener">Invictus Games</a>&nbsp;event in the afternoon.
