The Reason Why Meghan Markle Hasn't Been Wearing Her Engagement Ring
And no, it is not because the Sussexes are getting separated.
As of late, Meghan Markle has been photographed noticeably missing an important piece of bling: her engagement ring. This of course sparked many rumors on the Internet questioning if this is a sign there may be trouble paradise between Markle and Prince Harry. However, the couple is still very much so together, especially after already denying the separation rumours that circled the Internet for weeks.
The real reason Markle isn't wearing her engagement ring? It's simply, "being fixed," a source told Page Six.
In a matter of time, the ring will certainly be back on her finger.
Prince Harry proposed to Markle in November 2017, with a custom design featuring a diamond from Botswana and two stones from his late mother Princess Diana's collection.
Prince Harry explained the design to the BBC in an interview, stating, "The ring is yellow gold, because that’s [her] favorite, and the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana, and the little diamonds either side are from my mother’s jewelry collection to make sure that she’s with us on this — on this crazy journey together."
Their "crazy journey" has certainly been quite the ride, as even after stepping down from their royal duties and relocating to California, the couple has not been able to stay out of the limelight. In recent years, their biggest headlines have included the success of their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan (which has been nominated for a Hollywood Critics Award), the release of the Duke of Sussex's tell-all memoir Spare, the (now debunked) rumour Markle was in the talks of being a Dior ambassador, and of course, the separation speculation (which has now also been denied).
The questions about Markle's missing engagement ring also follow the weeks worth of news regarding Markle and Prince Harry's $20 million partnership collapse with Spotify. The couple was allegedly accused of not making enough content for Markle's podcast, "Archetypes," within the parameters of their agreement.
While their Spotify deal has ended, their Netflix partnership is still alive and running, as the couple just signed on to produce their first movie, creating a screen adaptation of the romance novel Meet Me By the Lake by Carley Fortune.
Fortune announced the news on Instagram, captioning the post, "I never thought I'd be making this announcement, but since I am, it feels fitting that I'm doing it from the cottage where it all began. I'm thrilled to confirm that I'm teaming up with Netflix and Archewell Productions on the adaptation of Meet Me at the Lake. Will and Fern's love story is dear to my heart, and I can't imagine a more perfect partnership. Writing this book was a tremendous personal challenge, and to see it recognized in this way is truly incredible."
Netflix has also just released the official trailer to Heart of Invictus, executively produced by Prince Harry. Releasing on August 30, the show follows "six people competing in the 2022 Invictus Games, a global event founded by Prince Harry that helps wounded service members heal through sports," per the synopsis.
