It's been nearly a year since Christopher Bailey first broke fashion tradition by incorporating Burberry's men's and women's collections into one shoppable runway show for September 2016. And now, we're days away 'til his third "see now, buy now" runway presentation, which will take place at London Fashion Week on Saturday.
As expected, much of the Burberry September 2017 show is shrouded in secrecy – but the British label has dropped numerous hints on its Instagram page. This season's highly-anticipated show will be held at Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell, London. This will be the first time the 18th-century former courthouse opens its doors to the public since its restoration – we're expecting plenty of towering atriums, exposed walls, and chandeliers.
Set your clocks. Burberry will livestream its runway show on Saturday, 16 September at 7pm (London) / Sunday, 17 September at 2am (Singapore). The entire collection will be available for immediate purchase globally on Burberry.com.
Inspired by the spirit captured in British social portraiture, Burberry’s September 2017 collection will also coincide with a photography exhibition. Curated by Christopher Bailey, Lucy Kumara Moore (writer, curator and Director of Claire de Rouen) and co-curated by Alasdair McLellan, ‘Here We Are’ will showcase over 200 works by 30 of the 20th century’s most celebrated social and documentary photographers – including never-before-seen prints by Shirley Baker, Ken Russell, Karen Knorr, Charlie Phillips and Brian Griffin. In addition, the exhibition will also showcase over 70 photographs by McLellan himself – the largest number of his works shown to date.
'Here We Are' will run from 18 September to 1 October 2017 at Old Sessions House.
