BTS’ Jungkook and TXT Take Home Awards at the 2023 MTV EMAs
Jungkook’s solo song ‘Seven’ featuring Latto won the award for Best Song
The results of the 2023 edition of MTV’s Europe Music Awards are in, and BTS’ Jungkook once again proved his influence as a global artist. His smash hit song ‘Seven’ featuring American rapper Latto, which he released ahead of his debut album Golden, took home two awards at the EMAs. The dance-pop track, which recently became the fastest song to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify, was awarded the titles of Best Song and Best K-Pop.
The award for Best Push Artist was accorded to K-pop boy group Tomorrow X Together (TXT), who just released ‘Chasing that Feeling’ in October. The Best Push Award is conferred to the most outstanding breakthrough artist of the year. Another notable award winner at the MTV EMAs was Taylor Swift, who was presented with the awards for Best Artist, and Best Video for her hit ‘Anti-Hero’ from her Midnights album.
The MTV EMAs were originally scheduled to take place in Paris’ Nord Villepinte, on November 5 with performances by BTS Jungkook, Sabrina Carpenter, The Kid Laroi and more. But organisers cancelled the live show two weeks ago, citing “an abundance of caution” given “the volatility of world events”, likely pointing to the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine.
