Original, October 18:

Soojin is finally returning to the Korean entertainment industry. After more than 2 years since her initial departure from K-pop sextet (G)I-DLE, Soojin has announced that she will be making her debut as a solo artist this year. The idol has signed an exclusive contract with newly founded BRD Communications, and the agency has released a statement confirming the news of Soojin’s upcoming solo debut.

Soojin famously and abruptly left (G)I-DLE in 2021, after three years with the group, due to allegations at the time entangling her in school bullying rumours. Following her departure from the originally six-member group in August of that year, Cube Entertainment, the agency that manages (G)I-DLE, terminated Soojin’s contract in March 2022. Later on Soojin decided to put an end to the lawsuits surrounding the accusers, after which she chose to keep a low profile, with no public appearances and minimal interactions with fans online.

Back in June, the idol resurfaced to create a new personal Instagram account and has since been showing fans snippets of what she’s been up to in the last couple of months. While awaiting more official news on her solo debut to be put out, Neverlands who have been waiting earnestly for Soojin can now finally keep up with the idol’s life.
