Panthère de Cartier Jewellery Now Fully Articulated For A Snug Fit

A marvel of engineering, the Maison’s latest panther-inspired jewellery brings added elegance and flexibility.

Infinitely adaptable, and always audacious and sophisticated, the panther emblem forms the artistic basis of many Cartier designs and collections through the decades, and it has undergone numerous transformations since the ferocious feline first appeared in 1914 on a Cartier watch. Now, the evolution of Cartier’s panther has taken a technical turn: Fully articulated pieces have been added to the Panthère de Cartier collection, offering a supple silhouette with a snug fit.

These open necklaces, bracelets and rings each depict two panthers facing off, and the pieces extend without revealing their hinges, resulting in a flexible yet clean design. The incredible articulation is made possible by components crossed with gold blades, which are connected to springs located in each panther head.

Available in yellow gold with black lacquer spots and tsavorite garnet eyes, or in white gold paved with diamonds and set with onyx spots and emerald eyes, these pieces embody the savoir faire of the Maison. In particular, the diamond-paved version demonstrates the brilliance of Cartier’s signature “fur” setting, seen in the minute cuts that surround each piece of onyx; the gemsetter encircles each stone with fine metal grains that create the rich softness of the panthers’ coat, giving the big cats a lifelike appearance that inspires awe and wonder.
