Cartier Unveils 2 Seasonal Boutiques in East Hampton and Mykonos
This summer, Cartier breathes fresh life into East Hampton and Mykonos by opening two new boutiques, offering objects of desire focused on themes for the season.
Better known for its summer party atmosphere, Mykonos is beyond a beautiful landscape for vibrant nightlife, but it's also a capital of style and art. A destination for some of the world’s most sophisticated luxury brands, Mykonos plays host to shopping destinations that combine unique architecture and interiors to reflect the history of the Greek island alongside the heritage of the brands. And joining the stretch of boutiques in Nammos Village, Mykonos, this season is none other than French luxury house Cartier.
Described as a meeting place full of life, the seasonal boutique is designed based on the themes of journeying and building new relationships with clients, with special and exclusive interiors lining the discreet terrace. Limestone flooring and off-white curved sofa chairs complement the tonal background, creating the perfect ultra-comfortable lounge for customers. Paintings by renowned Greek artist Konstantin Kakanias decorate corners of the boutique — one of the rooms even depicts the stunning blue and white Greek island houses in Santorini.
Across the Atlantic, in the heart of East Hampton, New York, is another seasonal Cartier boutique opening its doors. Reflecting the upscale seaside resort atmosphere of the village, the space has a similar interior to the one in Nammos Village, Mykonos, with accents of blue and white, wood tones and sunlight filling the room. The modern interior is decorated with artwork by Kakanias, each piece evoking the exuberance of summer.
“I imagined fun summer days and nights, with a totally free spirit where we indulge in nature, light, water, love, and beautiful things," says Kakanias. "Collaborating with Cartier was a real privilege, the Maison has such a rich vocabulary and history, which I loved to work with.”
To build a connection with the sun-soaked destinations, both boutiques offer a seasonal collection dedicated to summer travel and colours. Comprising jewellery and watches that can be personalised on the spot, the collection includes the new photovoltaic Tank watches with deep blue bracelets, Berlingots de Cartier jewellery set with brightly coloured stones, and the Double C de Cartier bags with their pastel enamelled logos.
