After 17 years, Christopher Bailey — the man behind Burberry as we know it — will be presenting his swansong collection for the British label at its February 2018 show.
Despite his departure from the brand, Burberry's Chief Creative Officer is bidding farewell on a hopeful note. During the show, Burberry will introduce the latest iteration of its iconic check pattern: the Rainbow check. Featuring the LGBTQ+ rainbow, a symbol of optimism and inclusiveness, the Rainbow check will appear all throughout Bailey's last collection.
If that wasn't enough of a statement of Burberry's support for the LGBTQ+ communities, the brand has also made donations to three charities dedicated to these communities: the Albert Kennedy Trust, the Trevor Project and ILGA.
"My final collection here at Burberry is dedicated to — and in support of — some of the best and brightest organisations supporting LGBTQ+ youth around the world. There has never been a more important time to say that in our diversity lies our strength, and our creativity." — Christopher Bailey
