You believe style can truly be a form of self-care in these unprecedented times. Why do you think that is?

Definitely. Self-care is all about taking the time off to feel good, whatever that may be. It has been popularised as being this thing that often involves face masks, long baths… and while all that is somewhat true, sometimes it can be as simple as putting on something that makes you feel amazing. Especially in a time like now, where life is almost at a halt and every day feels like groundhog day.

How has your style changed over the past year?

A lot and not really. I’ve always been someone who dresses for comfort and that’s something that I’ve definitely lived by this past year. Some mornings I wake up and I feel like I've forgotten how to put things together – but it's been freeing because I don't feel like my sense of identity is as tied to fashion anymore or the way I look. It's been quite healing for me. I also tend to put things together now keeping function in mind.

What are some of your favourite go-to items that have helped with your sense of self and well-being these past few months?

Before the pandemic, I didn’t own a pair of joggers or sweatpants. Now, I have about five. I think comfortable and stylish loungewear has been the main theme for me this year. I also love ribbed knit leggings and I have this one pair from Sandro with a matching top and hoodie that makes me feel like I’m wearing one of those iconic Juicy Couture sweatpants, haha. Another thing I can’t live without is my jewellery. With on-screen interactions taking over human to human contact, there’s so much you can do to make a good impression over a tiny screen — my beautiful hoops from Daphine are probably the one thing I wear every single day.

Any new fashion brand discoveries during this time?

I’ve actually been discovering so many incredible independent brands at this time such as Hades and Bethany Williams.

Any particular things you have given up style or beauty-wise?

Because I’m in the countryside at the moment, there are a few things I haven’t been able to wear. White jeans, white boots… but other than that, my beauty routine has been pretty minimal with a focus on skincare now that I have the luxury of taking baths in the evening and spending heaps of time with myself.
