Celebrate Women's Day with T-Shirts by Victoria Beckham & Alexa Chung
Not that we really need a specific day to celebrate the triumphs, strength and bravery of women — it should be something we strive to do all year round — but International Women's Day is just a week away and Net-a-Porter has unveiled a capsule collection just for the occasion.
The luxury e-tailer first launched its International Women's Day capsule in 2018, in support of Women for Women International, a non-profit organization committed to helping women living in war-torn countries to rebuild their lives. The proceeds of last year's capsule, which included limited-edition shirts by Off-White, Stella McCartney and Chloé, funded the charity's year-long training for over 170 women.
This year, the roster is made up of six female designers: Victoria Beckham, Isabel Marant, Ellery, Rosie Assoulin, Alexa Chung and Perfect Moment. Each created their version of an empowering T-shirt to proudly wear on 8 March. Alexa Chung alluded to women's spiritual connection to a higher power with her tee, while Isabel Marant boldly featured uplifiting words of encouragement on hers.
True to her aesthetic, Victoria Beckham kept things simple by writing "I am her" on her T-shirt. On the collaboration, she said, "It’s more important than ever that women support each other and hopefully this aids in raising awareness for a subject close to my heart." (That's a sentiment she shares with Maria Grazia Chiuri, who recently unveiled new feminist slogan tees at Dior's Fall 2019 show.)
