Prada. Front And Back: A Major Prada Exhibition Will Open At London's Design Museum

The first retrospective of the Milanese house will open in London next year, tracing the history of the brand and its creative approach to fashion

The Design Museum in London has announced the theme of its September 2020 exhibition - Prada. The first major retrospective dedicated to the Milanese house, titled Prada. Front and Back, will explore both the history and the future of the brand through some of its most iconic clothes and accessories.

Curated by Deyan Sudjic, the exhibition will also delve into how Miuccia Prada transformed her family's business into what it is today, taking the brand from leather goods and luggage to one of the most influential labels in the industry, together with her husband and co-CEO Patrizio Bertelli.

"For me, it's a particularly personal challenge to work on the Prada exhibition - there is so much to explore about a company that never wants to do the obvious thing, and that is such a genuine cultural force," Sudjic said. "Through the prism of design visionaries like Rem Koolhas and Herzog and de Meuron, we will tell Prada's remarkable story in fashion."
