If you've ever had a Tamagotchi phase, Prada's latest project might be of interest to you. In collaboration with 2x4 New York, the Italian brand has unveiled its own family of half-technological, half-biological (and all-round adorable) creatures — the Pradamalia.

Born in the Prada Labs using Prada DNA, the Pradamalia family consists of 7 colourful characters with unique supernatural powers and personality quirks: Disco, Socks, Fiddle, Otto, Toto, Scuba, and Spot. The adorable creatures come to life in the campaign film below, which shows them confined within the Prada Labs (though not for long).

SOCKS: The most expressive and sensitive of the Pradamalia, this hybrid dog can morphs its skin colour to convey its mood.
SPOT: With its ultra-focused eye and extra-sensory ears, this creature's defining feature is empathy.
DISCO: Disco was designed to entertain with three sets of vocal cords, hence its embellished appearance.
FIDDLE: Distinguished by a handsome yellow complexion and a figurative green thumb, Fiddle is, in fact, part plant.
SCUBA: The most forward-thinking of the Pradamalia, this hybrid octopus has legs made of Saffiano leather.
OTTO & TOTO: These best friends were designed in the image of one of the oldest Prada mascots: the monkey.
