Prada's New Campaign Blurs the Line Between Dreams & Reality
Picking up from its Sarah Paulson-led Fall/Winter 2018 campaign, Prada continues to explore dreamscapes in Raised Consciousness, a new campaign for its Resort 2019 collection. This time, the Italian fashion house trades its Pradalternate-reality Vegas for an industrial-style room with an opalescent vinyl backdrop that brings vivid colours to the campaign.
Against this striking set, models such as Sora Choi, Freja Beha Erichsen and Julia Nobis are captured by photographer Willy Vanderperre through a reality-distorting lens that play with their proportions. Aside from the trapper hats with earflaps, another key item that stood out on the runway makes an appearance: Prada's new, '90s-style shoulder bags with short handles.
Prada has also released an equally compelling campaign film for the collection. Shot by Vanderperre as well, the film showcases the models in an urban landscape and features a racing techno track that gives the collection a futuristic edge. Watch it below.
