Kate Spade’s Capsule Collection is a Love Letter to Literature
Storytelling meets fashion in the collaborative Storyteller capsule that celebrates the joy of the little things.
Mismatched crockery, vintage wallpaper, and intimate settings, that’s the mood of Kate Spade New York’s Fall 2022 season. Set in the iconic townhouses of New York City, the seasonal collection centres around the little things in life. Being surrounded by eclectic decor, the comforting feeling of home, and little cosy gatherings with those who matter most.
Keeping in line with the mood of the fall season, Kate Spade has released a capsule collection inspired by the joy of reading, in collaboration with Penguin Classics Threads and Out of Print, a division of prominent publishing house Penguin Random House. The Storyteller capsule is designed to spread the love and joy of literature, by underscoring the importance of preserving the stories that surround us.
Kristen Naiman, Senior Vice President of Concept and Strategy at Kate Spade New York shares, “Each season, our collections begin with a story, which allows us to engage our audiences in rich, emotional ways. This collaboration with Penguin Classics Threads and Out of Print is rooted in the mutual love for iconic literature, which we’ve made into modern timeless designs that we hope our audiences will keep and use forever."
The Storyteller collection is inspired heavily by the book cover of beloved Penguin Classics Threads’ edition of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden. The print of the literary classic is transposed onto an assortment of pieces, including a t-shirt, a tote, an array of small leather goods such as a coin purse and cardholder, and even smartphone cases.
A selection of five of the pieces from the Storyteller capsule collection is available in Kate Spade New York stores islandwide, including the t-shirt, crossbody book bag, coin purse, bifold wallet and cardholder.
