The Golden Era Of Fashion As Told By #GucciPrêtÀPorter

Gucci presents its Fall-Winter Campaign through vintage magazine covers inspired by the eras of fashion and history of prêt-à-porter.

Taking inspiration from four decades of prêt-à-porter, the roaring the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s all breathe a lease of new life under the touch of Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele. His flair for storytelling and characters have lit up the Gucci-verse in the most brilliant and eccentric of ways, and the Fall/Winter 2019-2020 campaign serves up a fresh dose of the Italian designer's imagination and offers an in-depth look into his FW19 collection that was presented at the Gucci headquarters in Milan.

This visual narrative, shot by Glen Luchford, serves up a good dose of nostalgia for the heydays of prêt-à-porter and tapping on the current appeal of vintage fashion.  As mentioned by Gucci: "The clothes take on the role of absolute protagonists and tell their own story, and for this reason, are deserving also of the title and the cover. In other words, it is an evolution from the immaterial to the material.".
