These Gucci Bags are Perfect for Your Next Holiday
For most of us, packing for a vacation can be a nightmare. Condensing your wardrobe into a handful of looks is daunting enough, but then there’s the question of accessories. On a trip, these will have to be many things at once: stylish yet practical, conveniently familiar but not boring, and most importantly, something that spells out “I’m on holiday!” when they appear on your Instagram feed.
Thankfully, Gucci’s selection of bags from its Pre-Fall 2019 collection ticks all those boxes. From the striped Ophidia bag to the tiger-motif Rajah tote, the Italian brand serves up signature styles that we know and love — with a summer-friendly twist. Below, discover the bags you’ll want to have on your arm all this season.
After debuting on the runway in an adorable strawberry print, the Gucci Zumi handbag hardly needs introduction. This season, its ladylike elegance is emphasized through a new striped design, which comes with a strap that lets it double as a shoulder bag.
The bag's namesake, Zumi Rosow herself has shared that she'd bring it with her to "The Huntington Rose Garden tea room, and then Musso and Frank which happens to be the oldest restaurant in Los Angeles." For less formal settings, switch to the all-new Gucci Zumi shoulder bags that are smaller, but no less stylish.
Being some of Gucci's more playful offerings, the Ophidia shoulder bags are great for days when you're feeling a little adventurous and want to go hands-free.
Your best bet is the new Ophidia bag made with a lightweight straw matt fabric. It's easy to picture it slung over your shoulder as you go island exploring with a matching straw hat on your head. The bag's snakeskin trim also adds a touch of tropicana that will fit the exotic setting, while the unmistakable Web stripe retains the bag's classy appearance.
The GG Marmont line, distinguished by its double G logo, introduces two new styles this season: the small shoulder bag and the chain strap tote bag.
Some designs boast textured, viscose raffia façades that won't look out of out place at the beach. The shoulder bag will definitely draw more stares with its pretty crochet floral motif, but the spacious tote bag leaves no room for worrying about fitting all your stuff in it.
The tiger head rears its ferocious head on Gucci's Rajah tote, which now comes with a tweed exterior. It is a nice vintage touch to one of Gucci's more retro bag styles, but that's not to say that the Rajah tote isn't for the modern woman.
In fact, from airport check-ins to sight-seeing, you'll find that the bag comes in pretty handy during your vacation. There's also a canvas option for those who want something more low-key.
Travelling to Arles? Take the Gucci Arli with you; it was named after the French town, after all. It stands out well enough with its boxy silhouette and gold double G hardware, but now you can choose from even more colourful designs.
The floral jacquard version, in particular, will look great in OOTDs taken in lush vineyards or gardens; on the other hand, the tiger print Arli bag couldn't be a better fit to accompany you on safari tours and zoo trips.
