The 78th edition of the Golden Globes Awards looked different this year due to the pandemic. A virtual live show aired from two locations, New York and Beverly Hills, LA, with live streams from hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poelher.

For big wins of the night, Chloe Zhao and her film Nomadland won the awards for Best Director and Best Motion Picture (Drama), making her the first Asian-American woman to win the Golden Globe for Best Director, and only the second woman to ever win the award after Barbra Streisand's win for YentlJosh O'Connor and Emma Corrin both won for their roles as Prince Charles and Princess Diana in The Crown, while Anya Taylor-Joy and The Queen's Gambit also snagged awards in the show's two nominated categories.

Near the end of the evening, Chadwick Boseman's widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted his posthumous award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for his role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. In her emotional speech, she thanked his cast and crew while trying to honor her late husband's memory. She said, "[Chadwick] would say something beautiful. Something inspiring. Something that would amplify that little voice inside of us that tells you you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you are meant to be doing at this moment in history.”

And though the evening, normally full of glitz and glamour became a homely and intimate get-together, albeit in outfits that mere mortals can only dream of – which begs the question – was this year finally the year where the event wasn't overshadowed by a stellar fashion moment? Either way, we'll let you decided. Here, all the winners and what they wore.
