Meet the GV3, Claire Waight Keller's First Bag for Givenchy
Before her appointment as Givenchy’s first female artistic director last March, Clare Waight Keller made her mark at Chloé with an aesthetic that embodied both casual femininity and effortless grace. But the British designer also possessed a flair for something else: designing beautiful accessories.
She has certainly brought that skill over with her at Givenchy — and the GV3 bag is proof.
As her first handbag line for Givenchy, the GV3 takes its name from the initials of the Maison's historic address on Avenue George V, number 3. In keeping with the Givenchy spirit, the new design is a study in contrasts: polished yet practical; chic yet casual. Despite its petite appearance, the GV3 boasts plenty of room thanks to its spacious three-compartment accordion structure. Polished flat-grained leather meets velvety suede, accentuated with dyed/hand-painted exotic leathers such as cat snake or python leather.
Like the rest of Keller’s past designs, the GV3 is stylish but practical at the same time. Thanks to its dual chain and leather straps, the bag can be worn four different ways: on the arm, shoulder, cross-body or as an evening clutch. Alternatively, you can take cues from the opening look of Keller’s debut Givenchy collection and sport the Nano as a belt.
The GV3 comes in four sizes from nano to medium and will be available in selected Givenchy stores from 5 March 2018.
