Relive The Joys Of Travel With Louis Vuitton's Latest Savoir Faire Universe
Travel has been a mainstay for Louis Vuitton since its inception over 160 years ago. It is with this inventive spirit that has pushed for a continued reimagination of the French maison's savoir faire, even with the continual needs and desires of a changing world.
Back in the 19th century, a Louis Vuitton trunk was seen as a status travel item, transforming the desires of travel into reality. Today, with travel remaining in the distant future, take a look back into travel and exploration with the French maison’s latest Savoir Faire Universe located at the Louis Vuitton Takashimaya Shopping Centre, happening from July 20th to August 2nd, 2020.
Set as a haven of tropical modernism, the upper level of the Louis Vuitton duplex has been embellished with some of the most iconic Louis Vuitton hard sided trunks, art objects, handbags, watches, jewellery, along with a curated selection of designer furniture from the Objets Nomades collection.
Ahead, check out some of the highlights from the showcase, with some pieces showing exclusively in Singapore for the first time.
In Singapore for the first time, the Malle Maison Vivienne is a true collector’s piece that showcases the savoir faire of the House with a touch of playfulness. It features Vivienne, the adorable mascot of Louis Vuitton, whose creation was inspired by Louis Vuitton's grandson, Gaston-Louis's love of toys and other curiosities. The Malle Maison Vivienne comes as a portable dollhouse for Vivienne, and features a terrace, bedroom, bathroom, office, living room, kitchen, and playroom. It comes complete with miniature versions of iconic trunks like the Courrier Lozine 110 and wardrobe trunk.
Part of the Objets Nomades collection, Louis Vuitton's collection of limited-edition, collectible furniture inspired by its travel heritage, this modular sofa, inspired by cloud shapes and round sea apples, is named after sweets served at parties and weddings in Brazil. The sofa is built like a puzzle, with eight removable cushions that can also be used seperately as pouffes.
Louis Vuitton's version of a foosball table, Le Babyfoot, is located right smack in the men’s lifestyle room, as an addition to the House’s made-to-order games collection. Check out some of its more intricate details, such as the players featured on Le Babyfoot, inspired by the signature Louis Vuitton "Groom", a character harking from the brand’s 1921 advertisements, and the counting coins, which are embellished with the hand-painted Monogram flower.
Coming as a new interpretation of the timeless Courrier Lozine 110, the Courrier Lozine Tiroirs is created in response to the common use of the Courrier Lozine used as a coffee table, coming with a wide storage compartment at the top, and a wide opening on the front of the trunk to reveal four pull out drawers.
