Double Duty: L'Officiel Singapore's October 2020 Issue Is Out Now

This month, the magazine has two aces up its sleeve with a dual-themed edition — accessories / art house chic

As the chart-topping 1988 cut by Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock goes, “It takes two to make a thing go right, it takes two to make it outta sight”. And here at L’Officiel Singapore, it’s twice as nice this October with the Double-A issue, which pulls off an impressive double act of accessories and art-house chic — double the impact, double the delight.

“Two’s the charm as rising models Natalie Prabha and Nia Atasha go head to head on our cover and in our pages this month (thanks to a collaboration with L'Officiel Malaysia), clad in the Jean-Michel Basquiat-inspired looks from Coach’s Fall/Winter 2020 collection,” says Ian Lee, Editor-in-Chief of L’Officiel Singapore.

“With the October edition, we’re also bringing you a curation of the season’s choicest accoutrements, all of which bear out the notion that accessories are the exclamation point of an ensemble,” Lee adds. “From Maisie Williams’ beloved Pasha de Cartier to Louis Vuitton’s Since 1854 series (as seen on local model Layla Ong) to the freshest fashion and lifestyle offerings by Shanghai Tang, there’s no lack of bold punctuation to amplify a style statement.”

More exceptional extras to discover in STYLE come courtesy of industry heavyweights like Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Gucci and Burberry as well as homegrown artisanal labels Bynd Artisan, 3125 and Stelliyah. On the sparkle and shine side of the spectrum, the opulent ornamentations from Dior Joaillerie, Tiffany & Co., Harry Winston and Van Cleef & Arpels light up the BIJOUX section, while BEAUTY’s exploration of the intersection between couture and cosmetics zooms in on the ageless adornment that is lipstick.

Harmonising flawlessly with the accessories theme, an art-house vibe suffuses the entire Double-A issue, as is readily apparent in the entrancing visuals of MODE. Think Fall fashion at its finest, captured in dreamy destinations across the globe — a Pre-Raphaelite beauty snapped amidst the antiques of a New Orleans home, a romp through the coastal dunes of Iceland, and a day at the beach in the wilds of America — in addition to a retro-chic take on the traditional graduation yearbook, featuring a diverse (and dapper) class of October 2020.
