In honour of the Lunar New Year celebrations coming up, Bottega Veneta debuted a film capturing the warm feeling of returning home for the holidays. The project, titled Reunion in Motion and directed by Jess Jing Zou, marks the second instalment to a previous collaboration between the two: The Qixi campaign named Love in Motion, released earlier in July 2022.

Reunion in Motion follows individuals on their travels home, spotlighting their reflections as they journey through different landscapes in China. The film mainly touches on the "luxury of time" – the time taken on these journeys and the time spent with family and friends.

"Bottega Veneta is in essence pragmatic because it is a leather goods company," says Creative Director Matthieu Blazy as he explains the house's relationship and vision for "Motion". He continues: "Because it specialises in bags, it is about movement, of going somewhere; there is fundamentally an idea of craft in motion."

To bring the vision to life, Bottega Veneta has set off a train for a month-long journey around China. The train, painted in the house's signature Bottega-green, is logo-free, with only a short message saying "On the roads that lead home, Happy New Year" on the sides of its carriages.
