Song Kang and Kim Yoo-jung are Starring in the Upcoming Drama ‘My Demon’

In the world of K-dramas, there has been a steady rise within the fantasy genre lately, with shows like Cha Eun-woo’s A Good Day to Be A Dog and Disney+’s acclaimed web series Moving. What’s not to like? The fantasy genre is great at weaving in unconventional plots and injecting an element of fun, transforming your typical drama into an otherworldly adventure. So when Song Kang and Kim Yoo-jung were confirmed as the lead actors in an upcoming fantasy drama tentatively titled My Demon, we knew we had to add it to our ‘Must Watch’ list.

The story of My Demon follows Song Kang’s character Jang Koo-won as a powerful supernatural demon, who suddenly becomes devoid of his powers. In a chance encounter, he ends up crossing paths with Do Do-hee, a spoiled and unpleasant heiress played by Kim Yoo-jung. The duo become entangled in each other’s lives (in classic K-drama fashion), and an unlikely romance blooms between the couple. While no official posters have been released for the show yet, the series drummed up a lot of interest from K-netizens and global fans alike, when the lead actors were spotted in May this year filming for the show.

Longtime supporters of Song Kang will remember him from Nevertheless (2021) and Sweet Home (2020). The rising actor has also made appearances at various Prada events this year, such as at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2024 show in Milan and at Prada Mode in Seoul. Kim Yoo-jung, who has been busy with her theatre debut in the Korean production of Shakespeare in Love, will also be starring in the upcoming Netflix comedy series Chicken Nugget, alongside Moving’s Ryu Seung-Ryong.

The first episode of My Demon will be airing on November 24.
