When Moving first appeared on our screens in August, it took the world by storm as one of the few big budget superhero TV series to come out of South Korea with it's star-studded cast and gripping yet heart-wrenching storyline. The Disney+ original series follows three teenagers in Korea who discover that they possess supernatural powers and their parents who strive to protect them from the dangers that besiege them.

Featuring a star-studded cast, including Zo In-sung, Han Hyo-joo, Ryu Seung-ryong, Go Youn-jung and Lee Jung-ha, the web series quickly became one of Disney+’s strongest performing dramas of the year both domestically and internationally with its rich character driven story and jaw-dropping action scenes. The series is based on a popular webtoon by the same name, written by first-generation webtoon artist Kang Full. Now, Kang Full has spilt some secrets about what fans can expect from the second season of the sci-fi drama.

First things first, there are definitely talks happening between Disney+ and Kang Full regarding a second season in the series. The news came shortly after the last episodes aired on Disney+, and Kang Full assured fans that something was in the works. But here’s where it gets a bit complex.

As the original creator, Kang Full imagined a full and expansive world for characters from his webtoon. Moving is actually part of a larger series written by Kang Full. The other released works in the series include Apartment, Timing, Again and Bridge. All the instalments in the series centre around human beings with superpowers being raised and controlled by the government for their benefit. The characters in each individual series crossover into other segments of this shared universe, and that’s where the trouble lies.

Moving is the fourth chapter in the original sequence, and Kang Full shared his reservations towards moving forward with Bridge, the fifth slice from the series. Bridge features the backstories of characters from Timing, Again and Moving, and since we haven’t seen either of the older chapters hit the screen yet, viewers could be left confused. But if Kang Full were to create Season 2 based on chapter one Timing, we’d have to say goodbye for now to the beloved Moving cast as the characters from Moving don’t appear in Timing

That’s not all. Followers of the original webtoon series have been waiting a while now for Hidden, the next segment in this wonderfully complex universe. But creating the webtoon and overseeing the production of the TV adaptation’s second season would likely be too much for Kang Full to take on at once. The writer’s since asked for a two-month sabbatical to spend a bit more time on Hidden, so Moving fans will only be able to guess what the next season is going to look like, at least for now.
