Lee Jong-suk & Go Min-si have Turned Down Roles in an Upcoming Romance K-Drama
The director of the drama was the brain behind the hit series Descendents of the Sun and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.

After about a month since actors Lee Jong-suk and Go Min-si were revealed to be considering lead roles for a new K-drama tentatively titled I’m Against My Own Romance, official Korean media sites have confirmed that both actors have declined their respective offers. While rumours surrounding the drama are swirling, the distributors of the drama Studio Dragon have confirmed that the production for the series will take place and that producers are simply still on the hunt for the right cast members to join the show.
Fans of Lee Jong-suk and Go Min-si have already expressed their disappointment towards the actors’ final decision to turn down the role in the romance drama. But for now, all we can do is look forward to any future projects that they may consider, and hope we’ll get to see the duo’s chemistry on screen someday.

Actor and model Lee Jong-suk is reportedly in discussions to take on a lead role in an upcoming romance drama, alongside Go Min-si. The Big Mouth actor received an offer to star in the drama I’m Against My Own Romance Too (working title) and is said to be considering the role positively. The plot of I’m Against My Own Romance Too follows the reunion of two first loves who unexpectedly trigger a new, unfamiliar relationship.
Previously, Go Min-si and Twenty-Five Twenty-One’s Choi Hyun-wook were both revealed to be reviewing the leading roles in I’m Against My Own Romance but Choi Hyun-wook, unfortunately, had to turn down the part after scheduling conflicts. No official news has been heard from Go Min-si’s agency but if she confirms her role, Go Min-si will reunite with the show’s director after working with him on Sweet Home and Jirisan.
The director of the drama is Lee Eung-bok, who has brought us many K-drama favourites, including Descendents of the Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (aka Goblin) and Sweet Home. Joining Lee Eung-bok on the project is screenwriter Kim Eun, who previously worked on Something in the Rain.
Lee Jong-suk, a household name in the K-drama scene, first shot to fame in 2012 with the series School 2013, and has since taken on major roles in many dramas. His biggest successes include W, Pinocchio, Romance is a Bonus Book and most recently, Big Mouth, where he performed opposite Im Yoona. The actor was also recently in Singapore as part of his Dear. My With Asia fan meet.
Go Min-si is most prominently known for her role in Netflix’s Sweet Home, which will be premiering its highly-anticipated second season from December 1 onwards. She starred in Smugglers and The Witch and even made her directorial debut in 2016 with Parallel Novel.
