The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract
Directly inspired by the web novel of the same name, The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract tells the tale of a heartbroken widow Park Yeon-woo, portrayed by Lee Se-young, from 19th-century Korea who gets abruptly kidnapped and thrown into a well. After time travelling, she wakes up in present-day Seoul, only to realise her husband no longer recognises her as his wife. The role of Kang Tae-ha, Yeon-woo’s husband, is played by Bae In-hyuk from Cheer Up (2022). As the former couple’s lives become increasingly intertwined, Tae-ha ventures into a contracted marriage with Yeon-woo. This K-drama will be released on Viu on November 24, with new episodes premiering every Friday and Saturday.
Only for Love
If you caught the Chinese rendition of the classic drama Meteor Garden in 2018, you’re probably familiar with Dylan Wang, who took the leading role of Dao Ming Si. Now, the popular Chinese actor is starring in Only for Love, opposite actress and model Bai Lu. The romantic drama follows Bai Lu’s character, Zheng Shu Yi, as a hardworking and ambitious financial reporter who attempts to score an interview with Shi Yan, one of China’s hottest young CEOs. The duo’s first meeting reveals their intertwined fates and teases us with the sparks of young romance. Premiering on November 3, Only for Love will be releasing episodes periodically all the way till November 28 on Viu.
My Demon
This highly-anticipated K-drama is finally coming to Netflix on November 24. My Demon is the story of a demon Jung Koo-won, Song Kang from Sweet Home, and a chaebol (rich heiress) Do Do-hee with a devil-like personality, depicted by Kim Yoo-jung of Lovers of the Red Sky. The two share a chance encounter that eventually ties their destinies together, as they enter a contractual marriage, in an attempt to solve their own respective problems. With teaser images of the couple in a tarot-card theme, this fantasy, romantic drama is drumming up a lot of attention, weeks ahead of its release.
Vigilante
Vigilante is an action and thriller drama starring Nam Joo-hyuk, beloved for his leading part in Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo and Twenty-Five Twenty-One. By day, his character, Kim Ji-yong, is a stellar student in a police academy. But when night falls, he takes justice into his own hands, brutally punishing incorrigible criminals who managed to escape the system with light sentences, earning himself the nickname ‘Vigilante’. The series shows Ji-yong’s emotional pursuit of justice as he attempts to circumvent those who wish to hunt him down. Vigilante is coming to you on November 8, via Disney+.
Moon in the Day
Another time-traveling plot has come into our timeline this November. Moon in the Day tells the story of two couples, one in modern-day Seoul and one in olden-day Shilla. Han Joon-oh, Kim Young-dae’s character, leads a seemingly perfect life as a celebrity until he gets into an accident where he is saved by firefighter Kang Young-hwa, played by Taxi Driver’s Pyo Ye-jin. After he survives the accident, he wakes up possessed by the spirit of a nobleman from the Shilla era, who is filled with rage after being murdered by his wife. The nobleman’s wife, as it turns out, looks exactly like Young-hwa. Follow the couple’s tumultuous journey on Viu, with fresh episodes coming out every Wednesday and Thursday.
