ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo Woos Fans at His First Fan-Concert in Singapore
The South Korean heartthrob was in town to meet his fans and he did not disappoint.
'Twas a momentous night for AROHAs and ASTRO's Cha Eun-woo as he held his first ever fan concert in Singapore called, Just One 10 Minute [Mystery Elevator] Show. This, of course, is after the K-pop idol and actor had been to our sunny island a few times before, albeit for branded events for Dior and Chaumet. Hence, the night was the first time, Cha could interact exclusively with his fans as the multi-talented 'Face Genius' delivered some stellar fan service and an incredible live performance of his debut EP that dropped recently.
In a moment of reflection, Cha mused, "Already seven years have passed, and I'm now in Singapore alone with this concert, and that really hits me differently... Whether it's seven years ago or now, you guys (AROHA) always welcome me with such warmth, so my heart is warmed, and this first concert means so much to me."
Prior to the concert, the star spoke to the press; Candidly recounting his favourite Singaporean food (which by the way is black pepper and chilli crab), singing career as well as his expanding on his acting ventures. On the music front, Cha pulled the curtain back on his creative process in creating his first album, ENTITY, sharing that his thought process differs with each song and that he often pens them in planes or on rest days. These memos helped him to craft ENTITY, which consisted of five tracks that were his most personal yet. On acting, Cha recounted his favourite moments of his recent TV series, A Good Day To Be A Dog, singling out the scenes where he had to kiss the dog. He revealed that he had to place a treat on his mouth in order to get the dog to kiss him.
Held at The Star Theatre, Cha kicked off his debut fan-concert with a sizzliing rendition of Lee Hyo-ri's "10 Minutes" — a nod to his tour name — before hyping the audience with an energetic performance of his track "F*cking Great". Naturally, he also sang his title track, "Stay" and more from his EP. He even did a cover of Backstreet Boys' "As Long As You Love Me" and ASTRO hits like "Crazy Sexy Cool" and "Candy Sugar Pop."
Perhaps the most memorable moments of the fan-concert are his audience interactions in the fan segment such as him role-playing a dreamy boy-next-door or being tasked with flirtatious missions which included him donning a prince costume and delivering the line, "Will you marry me?" to hiis adoring fans.
As the night came to an end, Cha's closing words hinted that this would not be the last time that he and Singapore's AROHAs will meet. "Starting from the Just One 10 Minute [Mystery Elevator] concert, I have a gut feeling that we might be able to see each other more often in the future," he said, before closing out with, "See you again next year." We certainly cannot wait!
