In a move that nobody saw coming, streetwear icon Virgil Abloh has joined French mineral water company, Evian, as its new Creative Adviser. According to WWD, the Off-White and Louis Vuitton Men's designer will be helping to make Evian's design process more sustainable, aiding the company's efforts to fully switch to water bottles made of recycled plastic by 2025.
With his extensive design knowledge encompassing architecture, fashion and even furniture design, Abloh is understandably a great fit for the role. It doesn't hurt that the American designer is highly influential, either. As put by Evian's global marketing vice president Patricia Oliva, “Virgil is the embodiment of the next generation’s possibilities.”
Virgil's first creations for Evian will be unveiled early next year, during the Fall/Winter 2019 fashion month in February and March. Until then, you can take a look at his brand new business card:
