Luxe Home Accessories To Amp Up Your Living Space
Louis Vuitton
Since the debut of Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades in 2012, the collection has since expanded with the addition of 10 new pieces, designed in collaboration with internationally renowned designers, at Fuorisalone 2019. Anemona, designed by Milan-based Atelier Biagetti, is a beautiful glass-topped table built on a base, featuring soft beige leather on the outside and beholding a rich deep-blue Louis Vuitton lacquer on the inside. Designers Zanellotto/Bartotto also premiered Mandala, a poetic tripartite screen of woven leather inspired by nomadic craftsmenship and the Venetian lagoon at sunset.
Dior
Dior Maison 2019 sees a collaboration with Dimore Studio, founded by duo Emilio Salci and Britt Moran in 2003, for an exclusive 14-piece livingware collection. The collection’s clean lines, silver and gold nuances pay homage to the artistic movements of cubism and surrealism, both of which were favoured by the late Monsieur Dior, who was also a passionate gallerist himself. The Trittico (Triptych) is a set of glass frames enhanced with polished gold that makes for a quintessentially minimalist and puritian display piece, while Cubisme (Cubism) is a series comprising of two vases, a cubic lighter, an ashtray and tray, featuring smoked gray Plexiglas with gold accents. The most iconic of all: the homage paid to the iconic Dior cannage, with rattan weave interplaying with metal alloy accents, in the Basket series and the umbrella stand titled Ceci n’est pas un vase. This 2019 collection is exclusively available by special order for a one-year period.
Dolce & Gabbana
Fashion and design come together again in the latest collaboration between the fashion house and SMEG. Following the success of the hand-painted “Frigoriferi d’Arte” and the small appliance collections “Sicily is my Love” and “Divina Cucina” this latest lifestyle project with SMEG sees bold and beautiful patterns adorning home appliances such as a hob and cooker hood, coffee maker, toaster and more. Just as intricate as the details that go into every garment at the Dolce & Gabbana atelier, these original collaboration pieces encompass rich history and beauty, artisanal tradition and love of hand craftsmanship, thus transforming into icons of an authentic and contemporary lifestyle that is synonymous with luxury living.
Diesel Living
In the spirit of celebrating Ten Years of Diesel Living with Foscarani, the brand officially launched its whimsically charming Wrecking Ball Lamp, with its glass globe decked out in washed gold and rusty sunset tones. Marking a decade of working with Moroso, the collection also sees the return of an all-time favourite like the Nebula Nine couch, now available in a Nebula Light version with improved streamlined upholstery. For those who love all things astronomy-themed, wall hooks have been transformed into planets of the solar system with the Cosmic Hangers, as well as the gorgeous Side Doesn’t Matter plates from the same collection.
Loewe
Following the brand’s theme of “Loewe Baskets”, the Spanish Maison collaborated with 10 prominent international artisans to interpret the theme of basketry, hand quilting and calligraphy, each in their own unique way. Each artisan is well-versed in their discipline and craft, bringing their own distinct style to the project, resulting in a gallery of one-off works that are both decorative and practical for the home. Some of the artisans this year include Deloss Webber (USA), Arko/Asako Sato (Japan) as well as Loewe Craft Prize finalist Joe Hogan (Ireland) – who was previously commissioned by the brand’s creative director, Jonathan Anderson, to weave rustic woven baskets that adorned Loewe’s SS19 womenswear show at the Maison de l’UNESCO in Paris.
