For a casual-but-classy brunch
Claudine
Three-Michelin-starred chef Julien Royer's latest restaurant also happens to be the perfect brunch spot. Enter Claudine, a sleek restaurant in Dempsey Hill that offers up classic French dishes in an accessible and entirely unpretentious manner. That translates to dishes like the Claudine Bouillabaisse, a homely take on the classic fish stew (served with the heads of several juicy carabinero prawns in tact), and the Vol-Au-Vent, a puff pastry packed with offal cuts and an addictive, velveteen sauce of mushroom jus and cognac.
MO Bar
Mandarin Gallery's much-lauded MO Bar has received plenty of acclaim for its cocktail menu (it's appeared on Asia's 50 Best Bars list for the last two years running), but it also serves up a delectable brunch spread worth visiting in the daytime for — all served alongside the bar's famous cocktails.
To start with, you'll be served a platter of fresh seafood, one that includes snow crab and Maine lobster. You can then mix-and-match the rest of your brunch menu; MO Bar's gone for a modern East-meets-West approach with their food, which means you'll find hearty Taiwanese beef noodles alongside braised Angus beef cheek, and decadent butter chicken and naan next to sinful black truffle pasta.

For an intimate date night
Firangi Superstar
Mod-Indian restaurant Firangi Superstar has fast become one of our favourite new restaurants of the year, not least because of it's impeccable vibes (those plush interiors, the dark velvet upholstery, those cosy, private booths...) The restaurant's motto — 'a foreigner's love letter to India' — really shines with its festive offerings.
Head chef Thiru Gunasakaran gives his signature dahl makhani an intense, heady makeover in Butter Fingers, a dish akin to a hearty pot pie: Generous portions of lobster and flavourful lentils come together in a bowl of pillowy bhathura to create the perfect festive sharing dish. The bar menu also has a few new bells and whistles in the form of limited-time festive cocktails, like an addictive hot buttered rum.
Mezza 9 at Grand Hyatt
Indulge in a hearty feast this Christmas with Mezza 9’s festive spread. Exclusively available for Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day brunch, and the whole of New Year's Eve, get ready to treat your taste buds to classic Christmas dishes like Roast Turkey, Roasted Australian Sangus Beef Rib, Honey Glazed Ham, Australian Roaring Forties Lamb Roast with Garlic and Herbs, and more.
With the wide assortment of food you’ll be feasting on at Mezza 9, we recommend working up an appetite before going.
The Singapore Cable Car's 'Fly Me to Japan' experience
When was the last time you took a ride in Singapore's beloved cable cars? Here's a good reason for a visit: The Japan National Tourism Organisation has partnered up with the Mount Faber Leisure Group to offer an exclusive sky dining experience inspired by the best of Japanese cuisine.
Titled Fly Me to Japan, dinner starts off at a plush bistro with verdant views of Mount Faber — there, you'll start off with a refreshing sake and yuzu drink along with a plate of fresh Hokkaido scallops. Once you're done with the appetisers, that's when the experience begins proper.
You'll be served your main course and dessert in the cable car; the trip lasts about 30 minutes, or two full rounds of the Mount Faber loop. For mains, you can choose between a glorious melt-in-your-mouth grilled Omi wagyu (one of the most distinguished types of beef from Japan) and a savoury pan-grilled eel. Vegetarians aren't left out, either — the char-grilled king abalone mushroom and aubergine dish is a wonderfully meaty dish. There's also an optional sake pairing that we wholeheartedly recommend.
For an extravagant night out
Sushi Ichizuke and Here Kitty Kitty
If you're looking for an evening to remember, we have the itinerary for you, thanks to Zouk's two newest dining concepts. Start off with dinner at Sushi Ichizuke, a 16-seater omakase restaurant that's hidden down a darkened, mirror-lined corridor, where two veteran chefs from Japan will serve up fresh Edomae-style sushi to you right at your table. After that, adjourn to Here Kitty Kitty, the neighbouring speakeasy that offers up creative cocktails in a wonderfully Instagrammable space. Read our full review here.
For a local feast
Violet Oon
If you’d rather have a chill night home with your family this Christmas, consider Violet Oon’s VO Christmas Feast. Portioned for up to 8 people, treat your loved ones to a scrumptious feast with signature Nyonya dishes like Ngoh Hiang, Tauhu Goreng, Udang Goreng Chilli, Chicken Curry, Broccoli Lemak, Beef Rendang, Dry Laksa, and more. On top of that, the package comes with a classic 6” Tropical Brandy-infused Fruit Cake for dessert.
For pet parents
Mylo
Your pets don't need to be left out of your festive libations. Bring them along to Mylo, a new pet-friendly café tucked away in the verdant grounds of Gardens by the Bay. Here, you'll find a slew of over 20 different gelato flavours, all lovingly churned on-site. Aside from summertime favourites like Strawberry Tart and Apple Pie, they've also got some inventive flavours for the adventurous, like the complex Smoked Maple Bacon and boozy Margarita — all alongside a generous selection of cakes and bakes.
Of course, Fido will have something to munch on while you busy yourself with dessert. There's a special pet-friendly menu that's been vetted by the owner's eager golden retriever, the eponymous Mylo: Expect to see homemade dog biscuits and frozen popsicles to help your pet cool off — our pup was especially fond of the Chicken & Beef bone broth flavour.
