Patek Philippe's latest watches combine complicated watchmaking with modern design
The new watches bring with them some of the Swiss manufacturers' most complex complications in surprisingly contemporary exteriors.
Whenever Patek Philippe release has an announcement to make, you can bet it sends the watch world into a tizzy. Their latest launch is no different. The Swiss manufacturer has just unveiled three new versions of their complicated chronographs — each with a rather urbane exterior.
First off is an heir to one of Patek Philippe's most sought-after grand complications — the Reference 5204R-011. Available in rose gold and slate grey, the watch brings with it a contemporary interpretation of an iconic model. Its sophisticated architecture belies one of their most stunning movements, the caliber CHR 29-535, visible through the transparent sapphire caseback.
Meanwhile, the Reference 5905/1A-001 introduces a design that's both bold and casual: It's steel exterior — a rare metal in the manufacturer's playbook — is contrasted nicely with an elegant sunburst olive green dial and a three-link integrated bracelet.
Last but not least is the Reference 5930P-001. It cuts a rather impressive figure with its platinum case, rich green dial, and World Time function.
