Hermès to Launch New Arceau 78
The Arceau 78 watch has the sober and elegant look of an object out of time and time. In 1978, Henri d'Origny unbridled codes by associating with the round case asymmetrical fasteners inspired stirrups and an angled typography evoking the gallop of the horse . This very large 40mm diameter steel model is presented today with a grained anthracite dial, cream-colored numerals and hands and a natural Barenia bracelet.
L'Arceau d ' Hermès has been playing since its creation with different styles, the privilege of its sobriety and its deliberately simple lines. The Arceau 78 is equipped with a round case in polimiroir steel, surmounted by a matt brushed steel microbilled bezel and singular equestrian-inspired asymmetrical fasteners, echoing the origins of the Maison du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
Powered by a Swiss-made quartz movement, the charcoal-finish anthracite dial features hour, minute and date functions at 6 o'clock, punctuated by Arabic numerals and light, cream-colored luminescent hands. This delicate contrast underlines the characteristic pattern of its sloping figures. A natural Barenia calfskin bracelet made in the Hermès Horloger workshops, like the case and the dial, comes to dress the Arceau 78 watch.
