Cartier Unveils 'Nature Sauvage' Collection Amid Vienna's Historical Splendor
Cartier presented their new Nature Sauvage high jewellery collection among the stars and maison ambassadors like Sofia Coppola and Elle Fanning.
Cartier has chosen Vienna, a city renowned for its rich history and vibrant culture, to debut its new High Jewellery collection, Nature Sauvage. The unveiling was marked by two distinctive events at two equally captivating venues.
The first event, a curated exhibition, took place in the Renaissance grandeur of the Kursalon Hübner. Here, the jewels were displayed in a thematic itinerary that juxtaposed the classical elegance of the venue with nature-themed decorations. The exhibition highlighted Cartier's exquisite craftsmanship, showcasing a precious fauna through intricate designs that brought to life the natural world in a setting that bridged classicism with naturalistic elements.
The second event, a gala held at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK), paid homage to Cartier's renowned "bestiary" of jeweled creatures. Nature Sauvage, translating to "wild nature," features 87 pieces that reinterpret Cartier's iconic animal motifs, especially the celebrated panther. These creations, balancing the figurative and the abstract, were previewed by an audience of esteemed guests and VIPs, who delighted in identifying the ferocious beasts or delicate birds that inspired the collection’s evocative necklaces, brooches, earrings, and rings. The pieces depicted a wide range of animals, from turtles and zebras to crocodiles and flamingos.
The evening began with a welcome cocktail, followed by a fashion show presenting exceptional jewellery and garments designed by Jonathan Ailwood. Guests, including Maison friends and ambassadors such as Sofia Coppola, Elle Fanning, Anna Sawai, RAYE, Sofie Royer, and Kimberley Anne Woltemas, indulged in the culinary artistry of three-Michelin-starred chef Juan Amador. His dishes, served at the acclaimed Amador restaurant, showcased a fusion of precision, minimalism, surprise, experimentation, and creativity.
The night continued with a choreographic performance by dancer Arthur Cadre and a solo by Italian tenor Fabio Sartori. The highlight of the evening was an electrifying concert by British artist Raye, a multiple Brit Awards winner and international music sensation, bringing the enchanting event to a memorable close.
