Bringing back the roots of haute couture, artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri ticks off the couture rules with her new Dior collection. The pieces were every bit minimal and dreamy, seemingly effortless as they floated down the runway. The labour behind them isn't particularly visible, which was what Chiuri wanted, but behind the scenes suggests otherwise.

One ethereal number that would complete a fantasy live-action swan lake picture — a flouncy feathered gown — was look 53. The dress featured a draped charmeuse bodice that is cinched at the waist, trickling down to a skirt of subtle dégradé feathers fading from flesh-tone to ivory.
