5 Things to Get at Dior's New Pop-up in Mykonos
The island of Mykonos hardly needs any introduction. With its glittering beaches, glamorous sunset bars and lively nightlife spots, it's easy to see why it has become Greece's top travel destination. If you somehow still need more convincing to get yourself tickets for the next flight out to the island for the holidays, then Dior has got you covered.
The Maison has set up a temporary pop-up space on the Mykonosian village of Nammos to launch its Summer 2018 capsule collection by Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri. The collection pieces are exclusive to Mykonos and available only for a limited time, making them the perfect souvenirs to take home with you after your summer getaway. Below, we list everything you should get your hands on at the pop-up, stat.
1. Beach-ready bodysuits
The bodysuit has been a fixture of Maria Grazia Chiuri's collections for a while now, but what sets the ones at the pop-up apart is the new slogan on the front: "J'ADIOR MYKONOS." Show off your love for the Greek island with the quintessential summer staple in striped styles, or trade it for one of the pop-up's cashmere sweaters bearing the same slogan.
2. Statement scarves
The "J'ADIOR MYKONOS" slogan is also featured on the capsule's line of silk Mitzah scarves and cotton stoles, which conveniently double as headwraps and wristbands. Available in a range of colours and striped styles, our favourite pick is the the scarf that features Dior's Oblique pattern on its reverse side.
3. The New Dior Book Tote
Even Dior's It-bag of the season has received the Mykonos treatment. The Summer 2018 edition of the Book Tote bag still features the brand's signature embroidered Dior Oblique canvas (and in new shades!), but its façade now reads the name of the Greek island instead of the brand. There's even a version with a particularly tropical flavour thanks to its colourful, geometric pattern. For something more handy, you can always take your pick from the pop-up's selection of Dior Oblique pouches, too.
4. Sand-friendly sandals
Dior's fuss-free ballet pumps are perfect for lounging about in, and they're just as easy to slip off if you ever want to dip your toes in the sand. Just for the summer, these exclusive shoes come handmade tassels and colourful ankle straps woven with the words "CHRISTIAN DIOR MYKONOS." Bonus: those decorative straps are also available as bracelets at the pop-up.
5. Exclusive DiorClub1 Visors
The sunny season calls for stylish shades, and we can't think of anything that fits the bill better than the DiorClub1 visors. The Dior Mykonos pop-up will be the first to have the sunglasses in two new styles, as well as a range of other handy headwear such as berets and baseball caps.
