The Gucci x Dapper Dan Collection Is Now Online
The world of fashion won't stop talking about it: the much awaited (and controversial) collection by Gucci created in honour of Dapper Dan has just hit the stores and it's an instant hit. After creating a piece inspired by the Harlem tailor made in the '80s, the Italian label was accused of appropriation and did better: it opened an atelier celebrating the American designer and created 300 luxury items as part of the label's Fall 2018 collection. Now, you can finally purchase the pieces from the collection on Gucci's official website.
Oversized T-shirts, leather jackets, silk scarves and sneakers stand out in the collection with different prints and logos. The campaign, shot on the streets of Harlem by Ari Marcopoulos, reveals the daily routine of a new generation of young people. Accessories are also part of Dapper Dan x Gucci, including glasses adorned with Swarovski crystals, leather backpacks, socks and belts.
"Nothing was more important in the cultural scene of Harlem than Alessandro and Gucci have come to the neighborhood and make this partnership with Dapper Dan," revealed the American tailor himself.
The Gucci-Dapper Dan capsule collection is now available on gucci.com.
