Raf Simon Debuts the Calvin Klein 205W39NYC Collection
Under the helm of Raf Simons, Calvin Klein's evolution as an all-American brand has only just begun. First came By Appointment, the label's made-to-measure service. And let's not forget about its recent American Classics campaign for SS'17 – an intellectual fashion/art outing with the likes of Andy Warhol, Richard Prince, and Sterling Ruby.
For Fall 2017, Chief Creative Officer Raf Simons debuts the all-new 205W39NYC collection (formerly known as Calvin Klein Collection) and along with it, a global campaign. Lensed by photographer Willy Vanderperre, the visually striking campaign explores the cinematic and romantic outsider’s view of America by presenting a cast of 22 models against the barren backdrop of the Mojave desert.
True to Simons' aesthetic, it's meta meets minimalism: Sara Grace Wallerstedt, Julia Nobis, and other fresh faces pose alongside a series of billboards featuring last season's American Classics campaign, wearing a mix of marching band uniforms, plastic coated protection, power broker tailoring, antique handcrafted quilting, workwear, and western wear. The new line also marks the debut of Calvin Klein Jeans Established 1978 – a new designer denim line that celebrates both the history and the future of the Calvin Klein brand.
