Prada Linea Rossa is Back
A strip of embossed red latex shouldn't stir as much excitement as it did on the runways of Prada's Fall/Winter 2018 shows, but then again it wasn't just a red strip that fashion insiders were seeing. It was a symbol of the return of Prada Sport, the Italian label's line of luxury athleisure that was first launched in 1997.
Now going by the name Prada Linea Rossa after its iconic logo, the revived line still maintains its focus on high-performance clothing, this time refreshed with neon hues, a more streamlined silhouette and innovative fabric technology.
The new Prada Linea Rossa collection offers futuristic outerwear, headgear, eyewear and footwear, some of which are designed specifically for sports like skiing and snowboarding. The functionality of the garments shine through their high-tech fabrics, which range from ultra-light, abrasion-resistant nylon to the anti-wind, waterproof Tela Tecnica Pro.
Perhaps the two best things about Prada Linea Rossa is that it's a unisex line and it's designed to be worn throughout the year, regardless of the season. This is best demonstrated in Prada's mesmerizing new campaign video for the line, which shows models cooly surviving all manner of weather conditions — rain, wind, snow — in their Prada Linea Rossa outerwear.
