Onitsuka Tiger Taps On Christian Dada For Latest Collection
Earlier this year, Onitsuka Tiger announced a creative partnership with 7 Japanese cult fashion designers in celebration of its 70th anniversary. Following drops by CINOH and KKtP, Masanori Morikawa of Christian Dada teams up with the label for the third stage of the year’s collaborations, which launches on 26 August. Centred on the concept of “products out of a touch of adolescence”, the collection is a heady mix of Onitsuka Tiger’s sporty aesthetic and Christian Dada’s unapologetically irreverent styling. Morikawa re-imagines the classic Rebilac Runner in Christian Dada’s signature colour of black, adding playful details like shoelaces woven around the ankle opening to evoke the image of a crawling serpent. A cheeky touch is added to the multi-toned sport suit in the form of rubber patches on the blazer and trouser pocket, which carry a statement on the philosophy of the Dadaist movement.
