Calling all sneaker-heads and eco-conscious individuals: Onitsuka Tiger's latest release is just for you. Many fashion brands have been climbing onto the green bandwagon and Onitsuka Tiger is no stranger to sustainability. The 70-year-old Japanese shoe company dropped its latest kicks featuring a special form of craftsmanship - Sakiori.

Passed down in the Tohoku region from a time when cotton was precious, Sakiori is an eco-friendly manufacturing process that takes old cloth and tears it into thin strips, that are then carefully woven, thread-by-thread, into a new, unique material using a traditional loom.

The Japanese label has shown an unwavering commitment in tackling environmental issues and contributing to a more sustainable society with its latest line incorporating Sakiori, in addition to celebrating 70 years since the iconic brand's establishment.

Inspired by retro basketball shoes, Sansa Sakiori Koubo worked with Onitsuka Tiger to unveil its brand new OK BASKETBALL sneakers. Made from weaving scraps of synthetic leather together, this intricate process of Sakiori is done by hand and superior quality is definitely assured. Alongside shoes, this collection also offers tote bags, poaches, and clutch bags in the same style.

OK BASKETBALL MT and OK BASKETBALL LO will be available at Onitsuka Tiger boutiques from 7 June 2019.
