Onitsuka Tiger and Patou Bring Balletcore to the Mexico 66 in New Collab
This limited-edition collaboration between Onitsuka Tiger and Patou blends sporty and feminine styles for the ultimate balletcore aesthetic.
Onitsuka Tiger's coveted Mexico 66 shoe just got the ballet treatment.
The Japanese footwear brand collaborated with Patou for a limited-edition drop of accessories, ready-to-wear pieces, and shoes. Onitsuka Tiger, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary through the drop, had the French fashion label put a frilly twist on its popular shoes. The collection debuts a reimagined version of Onitsuka Tiger's iconic Mexico 66. The updated classic features sleek lines accented with Patou's signature detailing, available in a pink, beige, white and black colorways exclusive to this model. The Ballerina and Rinkan Boots also boast reinterpreted designs and a balletcore makeover.
These pieces are available for online purchase by Singaporean customers. The Mexico 66 shoes retail for $420, as do the pointe-like Ballerinas. The Rinkan boots retail for $450, the highest of the trio. The partnership is also set to introduce items like hoodies, socks, and beanies.
Claudia Sulewski stars in the campaign, shot in Paris by Ellen Fedors. The new shoes channel a mix of sporty and feminine, merging both brands' aesthetics for a fun reveal. It's just in time, too. Balletcore has been one fashion's most enduring trends, particularly over the past couple years.
