Neon Lighting The Way: Trend Highlights Of F/W19
From the bright neon outfits that celebrities, such as Kylie Jenner, have been continuously sporting on their Instagram accounts, to the hot neon eyeliner trend that has made headlines everywhere, it's clear this striking trend isn't losing its touch anytime soon.
This trend was indeed a huge craze back in the 80s, when bright neon colours were synonymous with gym wear, and with all fashion cycles, the neon trend seems to be catching on once more. Needless to say, it shone on the runways during the Fall/Winter 2019 presentations of the major fashion houses with the likes of Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Versace and many more.
1. Saint Laurent
Saint Laurent's Fall/Winter 2019 show at Paris Fashion Week treated us to luminous visuals for its show's finale. The fashion house paraded multiple dramatic neon looks- from maxi fur coats to sculptural dresses, all decked out in bright greens, oranges, and more.
2. Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton's Fall/Winter 2019 menswear collection brought us a New York city-themed runway with bright and bold elements of innovative glow-in-the-dark items and neon pieces. Check out the bright neon pink and yellow see-through bags (which also include neon versions of the brand's famous Keepall bags!).
3. Off-White
Virgil Abloh also incorporated neon into Off-White's collection for the season, as vivid neons were repeatedly seen on its runway, in the form of an oversized neon coat, bright tops or simply as striking neon details on darker backgrounds.
4. Versace
The fashion house played with layers on the runway, and neon details were definitely not excluded. Bright lime greens, hot reds and more were layered on top of each other or matched with darker colours.
5. Sies Marjan
Bright neons filled the stage at Sies Marjan's Fall/Winter 2019 show in New York, and creative designer Sander Lak explained that he'd challenged himself for this season's collection. Lak had actually gotten over the whole neon trend but wanted to incorporate it into his collection in an attempt to revive his love for it again.
6. Christian Cowan
Christian Cowan's Fall collection was nothing short of eye catching. The collection brought us unique pieces - from huge feathered skirts to pantyhose that seemed to replace traditional tights on the runway. The pieces were splashed with a neon colour palette as well, sporting neon greens, yellows, pinks and more, from full out neon feathered ensembles, to neon pantyhose, and eye-catching neon details.
7. Jacquemus
Jacquemus's Fall/Winter 2019 collection was also decked out with vivid neons for some of its pieces. Suits, coats, bottoms and more took on the bright neon pink and green hues on the runway.
