Moschino's Resort 2020 Collection Is A Horror Dream
Moschino's Resort 2020 collection plays out like an extravagant horror movie in front of our eyes, opening with loud and jarring sound and light effects. The show is creative director Jeremy Scott's interpretation of a classic Hollywood horror movie and set against the backdrop of Universal Studios Hollywood's backlot.
Horror fans are in for a treat, as the looks paid homage to some of our favourite horror classics - right from the start of the show, model and actress Suki Waterhouse entered with a blond bob hairdo and telephone combo that immediately reminded us of Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore's character) in 'Scream', that was paired with a little purse reminiscent of 'Casper the Friendly Ghost' , completed with 'Frankenstein' -style scars sewn all over her jeans. Other examples include large 'Dracula' references in multiple looks, and 'The Shining''s iconic 'Redrum' quote printed all over a red dress, or 'The Wolf Man' and 'Creature from the Black Lagoon' design bags.
Together with the loud prints, a wide variety of materials were also used and creatively layered throughout the collection. The different looks included a long black gown with golden spiderweb embroidery, large PVC trench coats, jack-o-lantern printed silk with lace dresses, brightly coloured feather details layered over different outfits, neon green leather-on-leather looks adorned with the 'Frankenstein'-like stitches again, sequins, and more. Take a look at some of the outfits below:
The exciting show's front row also played host to many stylish and Moschino-clad celebrities, including Kate Beckinsale, Lana Condor, Ross Butler and many more. Check out some of their looks below:
