Lourdes Leon Makes Her Fashion Campaign Debut for Miu Miu
It's official: Lourdes Leon, AKA Madonna's daughter, is now a Miu Miu girl. The 22-year-old has made a surprise appearance in the Italian brand's Spring 2019 campaign, alongside Chinese model Du Juan, American actress Juliette Lewis and Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz.
Captured by renowned photograper David Sims, the campaign marks Leon's first-ever major fashion campaign. However, she had previously fronted Stella McCartney's "Pop" fragrance campaign with Grimes and Amandla Stenberg back in 2016.
Although generally low-key (unlike other famous offspring, she doesn't have an official Instagram account), Leon has been giving us signs of her possibly imminent fashion career with her attendance at last year's CFDA and, more notably, her runway debut at Gypsy Sport's Spring 2019 show. Landing a Miu Miu campaign doesn't hurt her CV, either.
She may or may not be next in line to be the celebrity kid that the fashion industry fawns over (à la Kaia Gerber) in 2019, but it's certainly refreshing to spot a new face amongst the crowd of industry icons and Instagram It-girls currently fronting the stream of campaigns.
