In these trying times, a little good cheer can go a long way. And Louis Vuitton is hoping to achieve just that with its new positivity initiative, titled The Rainbow Project. As lockdown measures are slowly being lifted around the world and people adapt to a new normal, the luxury house is taking the opportunity given by the re-opening of its physical stores to spread a message of hope and happiness.

Inviting employees and their families to awaken the child within and dream up window displays under the theme of rainbows, Louis Vuitton has transformed several store fronts into a joyful explosion of colours, aimed at bringing smiles to our faces even in the midst of uncertainty. The rainbow, after all, is an enduring symbol of optimism and new beginnings, formed as the sun breaks through the clouds after a rainstorm.

Each store window carries its own unique design, rendered in decals and animated installations. For instance, the Champs-Elysées store in Paris showcases drawings done by local children, which light up the six-window store front, while Madrid’s façade features a rainbow illustration hovering amidst LV Monogram clouds.

Set to be unveiled gradually throughout this month, The Rainbow Project will also take place in the cities of Milan and Rome, and Frankfurt in Germany. Fingers crossed that Singapore will be added to the list!
