In A Tights Spot: Kim Kardashian's Tights-As-Trousers Look Is Catching On Again
Whatever you might think of Kim Kardashian, you have got to admire how she isn't afraid to push the boundaries of fashion (to say the least). The multi-industry mogul has blessed us with many jaw-dropping - and often head-scratching - style moments, but one of the most controversial has to be her predilection for wearing tights instead of trousers. If you think unintentionally flashing your underwear is the worst possible fashion faux pas, think again. Back in 2017, Kim stepped out in an all-black leather blazer, bandeau top, sheer tights, and thong get-up, and in typical Kardashian fashion, somehow managed to make it a thing. She quickly followed that up with another tights-as-trousers outfit, combining it with logomania for a full-on, head-to-toe Fendi ensemble that has been seared into our memories, for better or for worse.
And with the launch of her own shapewear brand Skims, Kim seems to think it's time to bring the the risqué look back again, given that she's been spotted on several occasions sporting something similar. Not just her, either. Celebrities like Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, and models Joan Smalls and Winnie Harlow have cottoned on to the controversial trend, while Gwen Stefani and Lady Gaga appeared on the red carpet of the 2019 Met Gala noticeably lacking some trousers.
