Here Comes The Rain: The New "Rain" Boots From Louis Vuitton
Wet weather is an inescapable part of life in a tropical country like Singapore, but that doesn’t mean you should let it rain on your style parade. Sure, a pair of wellies or galoshes may seem like a sensible choice during the inclement season, except that they are about as exciting as watching paint dry. Fortunately, there is Louis Vuitton to save the (rainy) day. Striking the consummate balance between function and fashion, the Maison has just unveiled a collection of rubber designs that will hold up under a downpour without compromising on your innate flair and joie de vivre.
Imagined by artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, the aptly-named “Rain” capsule puts a twist on three signature styles: the Silhouette, the Rhapsody, and the Archlight. The ultra-feminine Silhouette ankle boot stands out with its Monogram Flower-shaped heel, while a harness and horseshoe buckle add a touch of punk to the biker-inspired Rhapsody. Hypebeasts will no doubt be satisfied with the Archlight, a futuristic hybrid of sneaker and gumboot that is instantly recognisable for its wave-like high arch. Made wholly from rubber with a monogrammed leather pull tab, the collection features four classic colourways in either a matte or varnished finish – jet black, stark white, army green, and hot pink.
