You might know her best as Max Mayfield in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, but Sadie Sink is no stranger to the fashion world. Having walked the runway for several big name brands at the tender age of 15, the precocious young actress is now the face of Kate Spade New York.

As a young actress, how has your style been evolving, and have you always been interested in fashion?

My style has evolved tremendously over the past few years. I've always had an interest in fashion from a young age, and now I get to work with the amazing brands I've admired since then. Not many girls get that opportunity, and I feel as though it has really shaped my style and taught me a lot about the industry. I love fashion and I love acting and I'm so glad that both are such huge parts of my life.

Has your character Max from Stranger Things influenced your style?

Constantly being surrounded by '80s fashion trends has inspired my personal wardrobe for sure. I think when you're living in a character's world for eight months, some of those elements slowly start to creep their way into your real life.

Who would you say are your fashion inspirations?

I really admire Rooney Mara's style. She can be edgy and feminine at the same time, which I love. Winona Ryder is also a huge fashion inspiration for me. Her '90s style was so effortlessly cool and chic.

How would you describe your relationship with Kate Spade?

Kate Spade was and still is one of my favourite brands. When the opportunity to work with them came, it was a no brainer.

What was the most memorable thing about shooting the campaign?

The most memorable moment from both campaigns has to be trying on the looks and just being immersed in the Kate Spade world. What Nicola (Glass) has done with each collection is incredible, and I'm honoured to have been a small part of her first few years with the brand.

What do you think of being called a fashion muse?

I think I need a lot more experience in this industry to be considered a muse, but it's wild to think that there are people who admire my look. I feel like Kate Spade really matches where I'm at in my life right now. It's youthful and feminine, yet still sophisticated. I share the same spirit, so it's a good fit.

What's your favourite piece that you've worn from Kate Spade's Fall/Winter 2019 collection?

The purple leopard print overcoat!

What will you be busy with in 2020?

I've got a lot of exciting film projects coming up that are keeping me busy. I'm also in my senior year of high school now. Between filming, fashion, and school, there's always something to do.
